VOLUNTEERING

Volunteer work has been an integral part of the International Red Cross Movement since its inception. In 1859, after the Battle of Solferino, the main ideologist of the International Movement, Jean Henri Dunant, became, in fact, its first volunteer, organizing the local population to help the wounded on the battlefield. It was the impression of this event that prompted Henri Dunant to write the book “Memories of the Battle of Solferino,” which became the immediate impetus for the creation of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

The Red Cross Movement is the oldest and largest international volunteer movement of a secular nature.

Today, around 12 million volunteers worldwide play an invaluable role in the activities of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement daily. The Red Cross Society of Ukraine is no exception. Our volunteers are involved in almost all areas of activity the Society implements. Each volunteer chooses the field of activity in which he sees himself best.

You can also contribute to our goal of making this world better, more humane, and more open.

Для того, щоб брати участь в діяльності організації чи у проведенні заходів, необов’язково бути фаховим психологом чи медичним працівником або здобувати відповідну соціальну чи іншу освіту – достатньо мати бажання та 18 років (або навіть 14 – за згоди батьків чи опікунів). 

Заповніть онлайн-анкету чи зверніться до місцевої організації, ознайомтеся з нашою місією та принципами діяльності або візьміть участь у короткому ввідному курсі волонтера та розпочніть діяльність в обраній Вами сфері діяльності Товариства Червоного Хреста України (і необов’язково лише одній!)
