Address by the Director General of the Ukrainian Red Cross to Hundreds of Canadians from the Main Stage of North America’s Largest Ukrainian Festival
Maksym Dotsenko, Director General of the Ukrainian Red Cross, addressed hundreds of Canadians from the main stage of the largest Ukrainian festival in North America, expressing gratitude for their support and assistance in helping Ukrainians.
He spoke about the current humanitarian situation in Ukraine, the activities of the Ukrainian Red Cross, and the scope of responsibilities entrusted to this largest humanitarian organisation in the country. Askar Umarbekov presented the outcomes of the collaboration between the Canadian Red Cross and the Ukrainian Red Cross in support of the affected population in Ukraine.
The festival was also attended by Olivia Chow, Mayor of Toronto; Chrystia Freeland, Deputy Prime Minister; Arif Virani, Minister of Justice; Stan Kutcher, Senator; Roman Dubchak, Deputy Chairman of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce; and representatives from the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC).
It is important to note that the Bloor West Village Toronto Ukrainian Festival is the 28th celebration of Ukrainian identity held in Toronto.
