The Ukrainian Red Cross Has Conducted Evacuations from Residential Care Facilities in the Kharkiv Region
Recently, the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response teams, in coordination with local and state authorities, evacuated people with disabilities and elderly individuals from residential care facilities in the Kharkiv region to safer locations in the Kyiv region. The emergency response teams of the Ukrainian Red Cross in the Sumy, Dnipro, and Kharkiv regions were also involved in the evacuation.
The Ukrainian Red Cross volunteers evacuated 37 people, including five members of the residential care facilities staff who accompanied the patients.
Evacuating people from settlements in danger due to hostilities is one of the areas of work of the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response teams. Given the escalating situation in the north of the Kharkiv region, such assistance is very important and relevant.
