Mine Risk Awareness Campaign in the Dnipro Region
The mine risk in Ukraine remains very high. Mine risk education is an important component of the work of the Ukrainian Red Cross.
Information sessions for people of all ages, conducted by Ukrainian Red Cross instructors, provide an understanding of the real danger posed by different types of mines and how explosive remnants of war can be disguised. They also provide clear action protocols in the event of mine detection to help avoid accidents.
In the photo, instructors from the Dnipropetrovsk regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross inform schoolchildren about the dangers of mines before the start of the summer holidays. A total of 2,280 schoolchildren and teachers were educated in the Dnipro region in May.
Once again, we would like to remind you that in case of detecting a dangerous object:
- Stop.
- Do not panic.
- Do not touch.
- Call 101 or 102.
It is important to remember that knowing and following these simple rules can save lives.
