Since the beginning of the year, over 58,000 people across Ukraine, including emergency workers and police officers, have undergone first aid training from the Ukrainian Red Cross

This training is particularly relevant in the frontline areas, where, unfortunately, people are injured daily due to shelling.
“Today, our teams of first aid instructors are visiting communities in the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Donetsk regions, providing training to young firefighters, staff of the State Emergency Service, Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) employees, and ordinary Ukrainians. Our trainings emphasize practical exercises in essential skills, ranging from applying haemostatic bandages to installing turnstiles. For example, in the Donetsk region, particularly in the city of Lyman, we conduct training sessions for emergency workers and police officers, who are our primary participants. Together, we work on practical skills, which constitute more than 60% of the training,” says Nadiia Yamnenko, master trainer and head of the first aid unit at the Ukrainian Red Cross.
Since February 2022, almost 250,000 people have received first aid training and know how to save lives.
