The Ukrainian Red Cross opens a call for applications for grant support of up to UAH 2 million for frontline communities
The Ukrainian Red Cross, with U.S. support under the Assistance in National Crisis Response, Humanitarian Operations and Resilience Building (ANCHOR-UA) project, has opened applications for the Group Cash Transfers for Strengthening the Resilience of Frontline Communities programme.
The programme is aimed at supporting communities affected by hostilities that face daily challenges in meeting the basic needs of the population. Under the call, local self-government bodies and municipal institutions may receive grant funding ranging from UAH 500,000 to UAH 2 million to implement priority emergency response measures, restore basic services, and strengthen community resilience.
Group cash transfers are a mechanism for targeted financial assistance that enables communities to respond more quickly to the humanitarian needs of residents and internally displaced persons, as well as to implement decisions aligned with local needs and priorities.
Grant funds may be used, in particular, for the support and emergency repair of critical infrastructure, the restoration of damaged healthcare and educational facilities, the improvement of conditions in temporary accommodation sites for internally displaced and evacuated persons, and the preparation of communities for seasonal and emergency risks.
This includes ensuring backup power supply for critical facilities, establishing heating points and shelters, and creating safer and more resilient conditions for community residents.
Eligible applicants include local self-government bodies, municipal institutions, municipal enterprises, and public utilities from selected communities in the Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions.
To apply, communities must conduct a needs assessment, prepare a project implementation plan, a budget, a financial utilisation plan, and an analytical report, and then complete the grant application and submit the required documentation.
