Ukrainian Red Cross involved in flood response in Chernihiv Oblast

In cooperation with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Red Cross, in particular the Chernihiv Oblast Organisation and the URCS Emergency Response Team, are actively involved in responding to the floods in the region. Posts have been set up in the towns and villages where the water is rising the most. Volunteers are on duty there together with employees of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Chernihiv Oblast.

For example, volunteers are using amphibious vehicls “Bohun” to deliver humanitarian aid to settlements where transport links have been disrupted. The special vehicles also help children living in these settlements to get to their schools, as access to them is also difficult.
