Assistance to Those Affected Following the Attack on Sumy on 12 October 2024
On the night of 12 October, the civilian infrastructure of the city of Sumy was attacked by the Russian Federation. Fortunately, there were no fatalities, although four people were injured. As a result of the attack, 33 buildings were damaged across four neighbourhoods in Sumy and the Baranivka tract.
Volunteers from the Sumy regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross joined the reconstruction efforts by assessing the need for assistance and organising the delivery and distribution of oriented strand board (OSB) materials to nine households. This assistance will help with the temporary repair of the damage.
