Veteran’s wife opens a recovery space supporting veterans and their families
Valeriia Malkova is the owner of the Mama Prana yoga studio in Cherkasy, where she not only teaches yoga but also facilitates practices to calm and restore inner balance. She learned about the opportunity to seek support from the Ukrainian Red Cross through her husband, a veteran. For their family, recovery after the war is not abstract — it is part of everyday life.
Within the Reboot programme, Valeriia received financial assistance, which she used to develop her studio: she purchased singing bowls and a gong for meditative practices. These tools help address tension, promote relaxation, and support the recovery of the nervous system.
Once a week, Valeriia offers free sessions for veterans, their wives, and children. For participants, this provides a safe space to slow down, recover from their experiences, and be alongside others who share similar life experiences.
