Nearly 850 psychosocial support consultations provided since the start of the year
During difficult periods in life, it is important to remember that you do not have to face every challenge alone. Sometimes, talking to a professional can help you better understand your situation, make sense of your feelings and find ways to cope with what you’re going through.
Psychosocial counselling offers this kind of support. It is an individual form of focused psychosocial support that can help if you are experiencing emotional distress, facing difficult life circumstances or changes, or finding it harder to manage everyday tasks.
During a consultation, you can work with a specialist to identify your personal strengths and sources of support, develop self-regulation skills, find more effective ways to cope with challenges and build confidence in your own abilities. This can help reduce distress, improve everyday functioning and make it easier to adapt to change.
Since the beginning of the year, Ukrainian Red Cross specialists and volunteers working in mental health and psychosocial support have provided nearly 850 psychosocial support consultations to more than 540 people across Volyn, Rivne, Kharkiv, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.
The consultations are voluntary and free of charge. To find out more about accessing psychosocial counselling, you can contact your local Ukrainian Red Cross branch, specialists providing basic psychosocial support, or partner organisations and institutions.
Taking care of your psychosocial well-being is one way to support yourself through difficult times.
