Active Life Has No Age Limit: Active Longevity Clubs of the Ukrainian Red Cross Launched in Zakarpattia

In March, the Active Longevity Clubs, launched by the Mukachevo and Uzhhorod city branches of the Ukrainian Red Cross, began operating. This marks an important step in the development of the Active Longevity programme run by the Zakarpattia regional branch.

The spaces were established through the efforts of local branches, with support from BraVo mini-grants. They provide a place where people aged 60 and over can stay active, socialise, develop new skills, and maintain their physical and emotional well-being.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in:

  • Physical activities
  • Board games
  • Creative workshops
  • Meetings in a safe and supportive environment

The clubs aim to:

  1. Promote social integration and psychosocial support
  2. Develop the potential of the older generation
  3. Encourage the perception of age 60+ as a period of new opportunities and active living
