The Ukrainian Red Cross responds to attacks in Kyiv and Kharkiv
- Kyiv:
Overnight, the emergency response team from the National Committee of the Ukrainian Red Cross quickly arrived on site following another attack. Together with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU), volunteers checked residential buildings to identify anyone affected.
According to the SESU, five people were injured in the Russian attack on Kyiv, two of them hospitalised. Several districts were hit, and some residential buildings were damaged.
- Kharkiv:
Overnight, the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Kharkiv region worked alongside city emergency services at the sites of strikes. Volunteers checked damaged buildings for affected residents and provided first aid and psychological support where needed.
Since morning, in coordination with local authorities and the Kharkiv City Council Emergency Department, the emergency response team and city representatives have been setting up warming points for people left without heating. Residents can receive hot drinks and snacks, charge their phones, and access psychosocial support.
