Mine Risk Education in the Chernihiv Region
Mine risk education is essential and highly relevant for ensuring the safety of residents in the Chernihiv region. This area remains one of the most heavily contaminated with explosive remnants of war, so knowing how to handle them safely is truly life-saving knowledge.
“This initiative aims to help people understand just how important safety is in our current times, and what each of us can do to protect ourselves and ensure a secure future in our city,” says Anna Hrych, Mine Risk Education Coordinator at the Chernihiv Regional Branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross.
Since the beginning of 2024, the activities of the Chernihiv regional branch have become significantly more effective, thanks to an increased number of volunteers and support from our donors. Ukrainian Red Cross instructors conduct training sessions for local residents, schoolchildren, staff from various services, and our own volunteers. In today’s conditions, anyone can encounter the danger of explosive remnants, and knowing safety rules is key to saving lives.
We stand by those in need!
