The Ukrainian Red Cross Opens RED HUB — An Innovation Space for Entrepreneurs Rebuilding Ukraine
On 19 June, the Ukrainian Red Cross officially opened RED HUB — an innovation space designed to support entrepreneurs committed to driving positive change in society and contributing to Ukraine’s economic recovery.
The event brought together representatives from international partners and donors, social enterprises, NGOs, and government agencies. In particular, the opening was attended by representatives of the Ministry of National Unity of Ukraine and the State Employment Service of Ukraine.
“We are opening not just a hub, but a springboard for a new wave of entrepreneurs who are building responsible businesses and a strong nation. This is an ecosystem for developing entrepreneurial initiatives, social projects, and innovative solutions that will contribute to Ukraine’s sustainable recovery,” said Olena Skrypnikova, Head of the Innovative Financing and Cash Transfer Programming Unit at the Ukrainian Red Cross.
The event featured a presentation of the findings from an analytical study on current challenges, trends, and opportunities in supporting small businesses. During panel discussions, participants explored the shift from humanitarian efforts to economic recovery, as well as the challenges and prospects for business education in Ukraine.
RED HUB is set to become a centre for the development of social entrepreneurship. It already hosts the REDpreneurUA programme, implemented by the Ukrainian Red Cross in partnership with the Austrian Red Cross and supported by the Neighbour in Need Foundation (Austria). The space integrates training, mentoring, consultations, and a platform for collaboration.
Together, we are building a future in which business becomes a driver of change and recovery.
