In Berdychiv, the Ukrainian Red Cross joined a race to mark the Olympic Day, with 400 children participating

Recently, a large-scale sports event was held, bringing together more than 400 children from the city’s school camps. Ukrainian Red Cross volunteers conducted first aid workshops and psychosocial support activities for the children and participated in competitions to encourage them.

The event was attended by the European athletics champion and ambassador of the “Side by Side All-Ukrainian School Leagues” project, Yuliya Olishevska. She supported the participants by her own example and conducted physical exercises for the children.

One of the main symbols of this year’s Olympic Day in Ukraine was the lighting of the Victory Flame. This symbolic flame, travelling around Ukraine, began its journey across the Zhytomyr region in Berdychiv. The flame was solemnly lit on the city beach, and the first race, which many participants joined, was held with it.
