The Vinnytsia regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration within the framework of the Activation Point project.
In providing assistance to the population, it is important to combine the efforts of the state and civil society sectors to support vulnerable groups of the population and facilitate their adaptation in various spheres of public life.
“The Ukrainian Red Cross provides a wide range of services, including psychosocial support, restoring family links, caring for lonely elderly people, and more. With the support of the Spanish Red Cross, we are implementing a project across five regions of Ukraine, including Vinnytsia. The project aims at improving employment opportunities for people who want to undergo retraining or pursue vocational education,” stated Serhii Hlukhenkyi, head of the Vinnytsia regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross.
The project will also offer grant support for micro businesses. Individuals who have lost their businesses or intend to start their own ventures can apply for funds. Currently, 42 business plans from participants are undergoing expert evaluation, with a total of 60 applications expected to be approved.
The memorandum outlines the coordination of actions and the development of joint projects aimed at assisting formally employed internally displaced persons. Additionally, it addresses the mental health and psychosocial needs of project participants.
