In Cherkasy, over 30 Employees of Mobile Health Units Underwent a Two-Day Training on Psychological First Aid
Psychological first aid is one of the priority areas for training mobile health units, particularly since the beginning of the full-scale invasion; people have been facing more frequent crisis events that can affect their mental health. Participants from the Cherkasy regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross learned about modern methods of supporting the population, including:
- types of crisis events and responses to them;
- complex reactions and referrals;
- effective communication techniques during the provision of psychological first aid;
- practical exercises and techniques.
In remote regions visited by the units, access to such services is not always available. Therefore, in addition to providing primary healthcare and initial examinations, unit members can also offer support to people in need.
