In Khust, an Emergency Response Team Accompanied the Khust HalfMarathon Sporting Event
In Zakarpattia, the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team accompanied the Khust HalfMarathon, which recently took place in Khust. The event attracted nearly 1000 participants from various regions of Ukraine, including Lviv, Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, Ivano-Frankivsk, and others. The marathon participants completed the 21 km main course, with additional relay and children’s races organised.
Volunteers of the emergency response team set up a tent to provide first aid to the marathon participants. Additionally, cold water was available at the location, and attendees could charge their phones. The team’s specialised vehicle accompanied the participants along the entire course.
During their duty, the emergency response team assisted 36 individuals who complained of fatigue, dehydration, minor wounds and cuts, high or low blood pressure, sprains, fractures, and muscle cramps.
