Six Mobile Health Units are Operational in the Sumy Region
Six mobile health units from the Sumy regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross visited 38 settlements and provided services to 676 people within a week.
Their responsibilities include examining people, measuring blood pressure, determining blood glucose and oxygenation levels, and providing primary medical care on the spot or referring people to specialized advice from a specialist if necessary. The units also offer free over-the-counter (OTC) medicines for general therapeutic use to stabilize a person’s health. In case of a threatening condition, they transport people to a medical facility.
The unit’s task is to reach the most remote settlements of the region to provide primary medical care to the population.
Ukrainian Red Cross health units operate in the Krolevets, Trostianets, Hlukhiv, Nedryhailivka, Putyvl, and Krasnopillia communities.
This program in the Sumy region is implemented with the support of the Swedish Red Cross.
