The Ukrainian Red Cross joined the country’s largest event in the sphere of mental health and psychosocial support
The 1st Mental Health Forum was held in Kyiv. Anna Didenko, Head of the Rehabilitation and Support Department of the Ukrainian Red Cross, was one of the speakers at the forum. The event was organized and attended by representatives of The World Health Organization from different countries, the Coordination Center for Mental Health under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the National Mental Health Program “How Are You?” initiated by the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, as well as representatives of government agencies, non-governmental institutions and international organizations involved in the sphere of mental health and psychosocial support.
The forum became a platform for the exchange of ideas and experience, as well as joint learning. Participants identified ways for the development of mental health care, in particular in the context of the humanitarian crisis. The event also addressed the issues of raising awareness about mental health and responding to the needs of the population during emergencies. And we, as the Ukrainian Red Cross, had the opportunity to act as one of the experts who provide quality basic support to different people almost all over Ukraine.
