INCREASE IN MONETARY COMPENSATION TO CITIZENS OR ORGANIZATIONS ACCEPTING IDPs FOR TEMPORARY PLACEMENT
During the heating season, namely from October 1, citizens or organizations accepting internally displaced persons (IDPs) for temporary accommodation will receive a double amount of monetary compensation, which will amount to UAH 900 per month for each displaced person. Previously, this amount of compensation amounted to UAH 450.
Payments will be implemented through the state program “Shelter”, which provides for the provision of compensation for housing and communal services to those who sheltered internally displaced persons from temporarily occupied territories or zones of active hostilities.
The increase in the amount of such compensation for the period of the heating season is undertaken by the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, in accordance with the Memorandum signed between the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development regarding the increase in compensation payments to internally displaced persons, citizens of Ukraine, who suffered from hostilities.
It is also worth noting that the list of persons who have the right to host internally displaced persons has been expanded. Now, together with state or communal enterprises, it can be done, for example, by individual entrepreneurs or religious organizations.
Information about people who provided free shelter to IDPs will be obtained from the regional military administrations and the Kyiv city military administration.
