The emergency response team volunteer was awarded the “Golden Heart” Presidential Award

Today, Maksym Shyshka, a volunteer with the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Zaporizhzhia region, received the “Golden Heart” Presidential Award. Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, presented the award.

“I was pleasantly surprised when I learned about the award. It is a great honour for me to accept it today. However, this award is, first and foremost, a recognition of the efforts of our team and the entire Ukrainian Red Cross,” said Maksym Shyshka.

It should be noted that this award is presented for a significant personal contribution to providing volunteer assistance and supporting the development of the volunteer movement, particularly during efforts to ensure Ukraine’s defence, protect the security of its population, and safeguard the interests of the state in light of the Russian Federation’s military aggression against Ukraine and its ongoing consequences.

We are proud of our volunteers and staff, who dedicate themselves daily to helping those in need.
