Today, the Ukrainian Red Cross signed a memorandum of cooperation with the State Service of Ukraine for Children
This cooperation outlines the implementation of several important projects for children and families, specifically:
- Assistance to orphans, children deprived of parental care, and children facing difficult life circumstances.
- Psychosocial support and social and psychological services for children and families.
- Support for family-based forms of education.
- Promotion of the development of family-type children’s homes.
- Providing information to the staff regarding mine risks.
“Supporting large families and family-type orphanages during the war is one of our priorities. Currently, we are providing various forms of assistance, including psychosocial support, mine risk education, and the provision of food parcels and vouchers, among others. Furthermore, we are planning to develop new ways to support these families in the future,” stated Maksym Dotsenko, Director General of the Ukrainian Red Cross.
The Ukrainian Red Cross, in cooperation with the State Service of Ukraine for Children, will intensify its efforts to protect human rights and freedoms and to provide assistance to socially vulnerable populations, with a particular emphasis on social support for children and families with children.
“Together, we will focus on the psychosocial well-being of orphans, children deprived of parental care, and children facing difficult life circumstances. We will also develop family-based forms of care, particularly family-type children’s homes,” said Petro Dobromilskyi, Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Children.
