In Odesa region, Ukrainian Red Cross social workers provide more than 29,000 services every month to people who need support
The Home-Based Care programme, which operates in 23 regions of Ukraine, helps people receiving support maintain their independence and continue living in familiar surroundings. Social workers assist them with everyday tasks, including shopping for food and medicines, preparing meals, cleaning their homes, paying utility bills and dealing with other important matters.
Currently, 256 people receive support from 50 social workers. Their work goes beyond practical assistance. A friendly conversation, personal attention and genuine care are just as important to the people they support as help with everyday tasks.
It is through these daily acts of care that the Ukrainian Red Cross fulfils its mission: to be there for those who need support most.
The Home-Based Care programme in Odesa region is implemented with support from the German Red Cross.
