Japanese Red Cross Society Representative Visits Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk Regions
In early September, a physical therapist from the Japanese Red Cross Society visited the Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. During his visit, he provided practical training to four Ukrainian Red Cross mobile rehabilitation units and supervised the work of our specialists as they delivered rehabilitation services to beneficiaries.
This kind of support is particularly valuable. For the fifth consecutive year, the Japanese Red Cross Society has been supporting the development of rehabilitation services in Ukraine — and not only financially. Professional exchange and knowledge sharing are an important part of this support, including visits by highly qualified physical therapists who help Ukrainian specialists deepen their knowledge and develop their practical skills.
Despite the challenges and dangers caused by the war and its consequences, this cooperation continues. Each training session provides specialists not only with new knowledge but also with an opportunity to improve the quality of rehabilitation services available to people in Ukraine.
Thanks to the support of the Japanese Red Cross Society, over the past four years, Ukrainian Red Cross mobile rehabilitation units in the Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions have provided support to around 800 people. Our specialists have delivered around 4,000 rehabilitation sessions and provided assistive rehabilitation devices free of charge.
Information and awareness-raising activities have also been an important part of this work. During the same period, more than 200 training sessions and workshops were held in the two regions, reaching around 4,000 people.
We sincerely thank the people of Japan for their generous and heartfelt support. Thank you for standing by Ukraine during its most difficult time, supporting Ukrainians, and helping us develop rehabilitation services that are becoming more accessible to those who need them.
Together, we continue working towards recovery.
