The Ukrainian Red Cross responded to the aftermath of an attack in Zaporizhzhia

Overnight, the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team worked alongside other emergency services at sites affected by another attack in Zaporizhzhia.

Volunteers surveyed the affected areas to identify people who may have been injured, provided first aid to those who were hurt, and delivered psychological first aid to people experiencing acute stress reactions.

A Ukrainian Red Cross assistance point is currently operating at the site, where people whose homes were damaged can receive humanitarian assistance. Residents can also receive first aid and psychological first aid there.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, 17 fires broke out in Zaporizhzhia and its outskirts on 20 September as a result of the attacks. Residential buildings, a shopping centre, an academic building, and other facilities were damaged. Six people were injured. At several locations, firefighters extinguished fires in apartments in two multi-storey residential buildings, a shopping centre, and an academic building at a higher education institution.
