Kyiv Region: Supporting People in Bucha District

Yesterday evening, volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in Kyiv Region worked alongside other emergency services at the site of a Russian attack in a village near Kyiv.

During the response, the team carried out door-to-door assessments of the area, visiting up to 10 households. They rescued and evacuated two people from damaged houses, provided first aid to five people, and provided psychological first aid to 12 people experiencing acute stress reactions. One injured person was transported to a medical facility.

The team also evacuated 14 people from the danger zone and transported them to temporary accommodation.

According to Ukraine’s President, 27 people were killed in the Russian attack in the village of Myla, dozens were injured, and more than 370 residents were evacuated. Residential buildings and a care home for older people and people with disabilities were damaged. All emergency services are currently working at the scene.
