Representatives of the Ukrainian Red Cross and the Danish Red Cross have presented the Support for Veterans and War-Affected Communities in Ukraine programme, which will be implemented in the Kirovohrad region with financial support from the European Union

Veterans and their family members will be able to apply to participate in the programme from September.
The programme aims to support veterans and their family members by strengthening their economic resilience and promoting social cohesion through business development, social initiatives, training, mentoring support, and other opportunities.

One of the programme’s key components will be a grant competition for veterans’ social initiatives. Participants will be invited to submit their project ideas, apply for grant funding, and implement the selected initiatives in their communities. Each year, the programme plans to support 10 such initiatives in the Kirovohrad region.

Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in a social entrepreneurship development programme for veterans. This includes a three-month training course on developing business plans, after which the most promising projects will receive grants to launch or expand their businesses. Priority will be given to innovative business ideas that deliver positive social impact.

In addition to financial support, programme participants will receive individual mentoring support to help them successfully implement their social projects and business ideas.
