Ukrainian Red Cross team responds at sites affected by overnight attacks in Kharkiv

Volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Kharkiv region worked alongside other emergency services at the sites affected by the attacks in Kharkiv.

The volunteers assessed surrounding areas, damaged buildings and residential homes, carried out door-to-door checks to identify people affected, provided first aid, transported injured people to medical facilities, and provided psychological first aid to people experiencing acute stress reactions.

At one of the locations, the Ukrainian Red Cross set up an assistance point where affected people can receive psychological support, water, tea or coffee, and a light snack. People are also receiving humanitarian assistance, including OSB boards and tarpaulins for temporary repairs to damaged homes, hygiene kits, children’s bedding sets, drinking water, blankets and other essential items.

According to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Kharkiv and communities across the region came under Russian attack over the past day. Twenty people were affected by the attacks, including two children. In Kharkiv, 12 people, including two children, sustained injuries or experienced acute stress reactions.
