The Ukrainian Red Cross participated in large-scale emergency response exercises in the Rivne region

For the first time in Ukraine, the Rivne region hosted the international tactical and special exercise “Strategy for the Integrated Use of Unmanned Systems in Responding to the Consequences of Shelling and Technological Disasters”.

The exercise brought together the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Rivne region and first aid instructors from the Rivne regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross. The event was attended by Deputy Heads of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, Oleksii Mihrin and Roman Prymush, as well as representatives of European Union countries, who learned about Ukraine’s experience in applying modern technologies in emergency response.

Over the course of two days, more than 100 participants practised responding to scenarios designed to closely replicate real emergency situations. The training covered search-and-rescue operations, firefighting, response to chemical hazards, detection of explosive hazards, search operations on water and in forested areas, and the use of ground-based robotic systems.

For the Ukrainian Red Cross team, participation in the exercise provided an opportunity to strengthen practical skills, explore the latest approaches to emergency response, and exchange experiences with emergency responders and international partners.

Exercises such as these strengthen cooperation among response services, improving coordination and ensuring effective assistance for people affected by emergencies.
