Zaporizhzhia: Ukrainian Red Cross Responds Following Latest Attack

The Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Zaporizhzhia region has been working alongside the emergency services at the sites affected by the latest attack. Volunteers conducted door-to-door assessments and visited damaged buildings, assisted residents with evacuation, provided first aid to those injured, and delivered psychological first aid to people experiencing acute stress reactions.

Humanitarian assistance is currently being distributed to people affected by the attack at the response sites.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, on the afternoon of 28 June, Russian forces carried out air strikes on Zaporizhzhia. One person was killed and 14 others, including two children, were injured. A woman and a child were rescued from the rubble.

The attack damaged and partially destroyed residential houses and a multi-storey apartment building. A garage and several vehicles also caught fire.

According to preliminary information, one person may still be trapped under the rubble.

Emergency rescue operations are ongoing.
