Poltava: The Ukrainian Red Cross is responding at the site of the latest attack
Overnight, the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Poltava region responded to the scene to provide immediate assistance. In the morning, a Ukrainian Red Cross assistance point was set up at the site. Volunteers are providing first aid and psychological first aid to affected people as needed. People can also charge their mobile phones and access tea, coffee and drinking water.
Humanitarian assistance is also being distributed to people whose homes were damaged as a result of the attack. In particular, construction materials are being provided to enable temporary repairs to damaged homes.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, two people were killed and a further 14 injured, including six children, as a result of the Russian strike on Poltava. The attack also caused fires at several enterprise sites across the city.
