Lines that open new meanings: “Text Therapy” session held in Active Longevity Clubs in the Kirovohrad region
This week, Active Longevity Clubs of the Kirovohrad regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross hosted a “Text Therapy” session initiated by the Home-Based Care programme with the support of the Swiss Red Cross.
The activity took place across five communities, where participants discovered the power of words as a tool for self-expression, emotional recovery, and inner support.
A particularly touching moment came from one participant who was initially hesitant to take part, saying she “did not know how to write.” By the end of the session, she read aloud her own text, which evoked sincere emotions and strong support from the group. She also shared that she had once dreamed of becoming a writer in her youth and had, for the first time in a long while, regained confidence in herself.
Each club had its own special atmosphere. Seeing satisfied faces, smiles, and warm words of mutual support is the best feedback for the Ukrainian Red Cross.
