The Ukrainian Red Cross joined a search operation in the Kyiv region

On 8 June, emergency response teams of the Ukrainian Red Cross in the Kyiv region, together with the emergency response team from the National Committee of the Ukrainian Red Cross, took part in a search operation in the Vyshhorod district, Kyiv region.

The operation was carried out in coordination with units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kyiv region, the National Police, forestry officers, the SARVA team, and other volunteer organisations.

According to preliminary information provided to volunteers, a man born in 1956 went into the forest near the village of Zaruddia in the Ivankiv community to pick mushrooms and got lost.

The Ukrainian Red Cross team arrived at the scene and joined the search for the missing person. The man was soon located by rescue services. Ukrainian Red Cross volunteers assessed his condition, provided the necessary assistance, and handed him over to an emergency medical team.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, drones, search dogs, and ground search teams were deployed to cover the area. In total, more than 65 people took part in the search operation.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of all services and organisations involved, the search operation was successfully concluded.
