More than 3,000 residents of the Sumy region received assistance from Ukrainian Red Cross mobile health units in May
Ukrainian Red Cross mobile health units in the Sumy region visit remote villages to support people who have limited or no access to healthcare services.
The teams provide primary healthcare directly in people’s communities:
- conduct general health check-ups;
- measure blood pressure, blood glucose levels, and oxygen saturation;
- provide free over-the-counter medicines for initial treatment when needed;
- refer patients to specialist doctors and, in urgent cases, transport them to healthcare facilities.
Currently, 10 Ukrainian Red Cross mobile health units are operating across the Sumy region.
Supporting people in remote and border communities remains a priority, as access to healthcare is often limited due to the security situation.
To ensure that no one is left without support, the teams also provide home visits for people with limited mobility.
These visits are about more than medical care. They reflect care, humanity, and support.
We stand by those in need.
