As part of the National Accessibility Week, Community Centers of the Ukrainian Red Cross are joining initiatives that promote the development of an open, accessible, and welcoming environment for everyone

One such initiative was held at the Community Center in Zaporizhzhia, where students were invited to watch the animated film “The Hedgehog Who Wanted to Make Friends.” The story about friendship, openness, and overcoming barriers became a great opportunity for a shared discussion about important values.

After the screening, participants shared their thoughts on the importance of accepting others without prejudice, supporting one another, and creating spaces where everyone feels comfortable and included. Young people also shared their ideas on how to make the city more accessible for everyone.

The Ukrainian Red Cross supports the principles of accessibility, promotes inclusive spaces within communities, and organises activities that help raise awareness about the importance of acceptance, equality, and mutual respect.
