Community Center: Supporting People in Addressing Social Needs

When a person faces health problems, the greatest challenge is often not only treatment itself, but also finding a way to access it — especially when the required medical care seems financially out of reach.

Vira is an internally displaced person. Her daughter approached the Ukrainian Red Cross Community Center in Korop, seeking support to help her mother undergo a necessary eye lens replacement surgery, which was too expensive for the family in a private clinic.

Together with a social counsellor, they identified more affordable treatment options, explored available state support mechanisms, and took the first steps towards resolving the issue.

Social counsellors at Ukrainian Red Cross Community Centers are there to help people navigate difficult situations, access essential information, and find pathways to the support they need.
