Over 1,000 cultural sector professionals took part in the online webinar “Introduction to Psychological First Aid (PFA)” delivered by the Ukrainian Red Cross

The event was organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen support skills among professionals who work with people on a daily basis. Participants included staff from libraries, cultural institutions, and arts organisations across different regions of the country.

During the webinar, participants learned about people’s reactions to crisis events, and were introduced to the three key action principles — “Look. Listen. Link” — and explored approaches to maintaining their own well-being, as well as practical self-care techniques.

The training was delivered by Mental Health and Psychosocial Support specialists from the Ukrainian Red Cross. Throughout the session, participants discussed key topics and reviewed real-life case examples, helping them to better understand how to support individuals in crisis situations.

Cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine helps to expand access to Psychological First Aid skills among those who work closely with people every day — enabling them to provide timely support when it is most needed.
