Litter trays, litter and food – essential support for the pets of internally displaced people

“Some people took their things, but we took the cat. When it was time to leave, I looked for him and barely managed to get him out from under the bath. He didn’t want to come out — he was frightened and kept pulling back,” says Yuliia, who relocated from the Luhansk region to Kropyvnytskyi. “I received cat food, litter trays and litter.”

Since May 2025, the Ukrainian Red Cross in Kirovohrad region, in partnership with Humane World for Animals, has been implementing a support programme for internally displaced people who left their homes together with their pets. As part of the programme, pet owners receive carriers, litter trays, litter, pet food and animal care supplies.
