International Partners Visit a Ukrainian Red Cross Heating Point
Maksym Dotsenko, Director General of the Ukrainian Red Cross, together with Katarína Mathernová, EU Ambassador to Ukraine, Kristina Mikulova, Head of the Regional Hub for Eastern Europe at the European Investment Bank (EIB), and Volodymyr Demchuk, Deputy Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, visited a Ukrainian Red Cross heating point.
The delegation observed the work of the heating point and the assistance provided to people affected by the energy crisis. Particular attention was given to its operation, including available equipment and the provision of psychosocial support for visitors. The delegation also spoke with people who had come to keep warm and charge their mobile phones.
With the support of the European Investment Bank Institute — the philanthropic arm of the EIB Group — the following items were procured to equip the heating points:
- 170 lighting lamps
- 150 electric thermo pots
- 140 power extension leads (5–10 metres) with USB ports
Such visits give international partners the opportunity to see first-hand how humanitarian initiatives are implemented and the practical role they play in supporting communities in need.
