In Sumy, the Ukrainian Red Cross team joined the response to the recent attack on the city

On site, volunteers and staff from the Sumy regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross helped distribute blankets to residents of damaged homes, as well as OSB boards and waterproof tarpaulins for urgent temporary repairs. The situation is made more difficult by the weather, with temperatures at -15°C, so the humanitarian aid distribution began as early as 5:00 a.m. to allow repairs to be carried out as quickly as possible.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the latest attack shattered windows in apartment buildings and damaged vehicles. Together with volunteers and municipal services, emergency responders are carrying out urgent repair and recovery work. A warming tent has also been set up on site, where people can warm up, have hot drinks, and charge mobile devices.
