Almost 20,000 people received psychosocial support in Zhytomyr region in 2025

Throughout the year, the Ukrainian Red Cross’s Mental Health and Psychosocial Support team in Zhytomyr implemented activities across the region, including in remote communities and during emergencies.

  • 2,131 basic psychosocial support and outreach activities
  • 19,997 participants — children, adults, and older people
  • 91 focused activities
  • 835 participants in focused and psychological programmes

In 2025, the team also:

  • Delivered 64 psychoeducation sessions
  • Provided 222 individual psychological consultations

In February 2025, the Zhytomyr Psychosocial Support Centre opened, offering a safe and accessible space for individual consultations, group activities, psychoeducation sessions, and recovery. During the year, the Centre welcomed 548 beneficiaries.

The team’s work is about support, resilience, and the reassurance that people are not alone during life’s most difficult moments.
