A training session on “Safety in Humanitarian Operations” was held for staff of the mobile health units of the Odesa regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross

Safety is a key priority for the Ukrainian Red Cross, and we place particular emphasis on raising staff awareness of the risks they may face while carrying out their duties. During the training, participants covered the following topics:

Raising awareness and fostering a safety culture within the organisation;

  • Minimum safety requirements and their practical application;
  • Procedures for responding to safety-related incidents;
  • Risk assessment and management;
  • Planning safe field visits and on-site work.

The knowledge gained will help staff better ensure their own safety and that of the people they assist, even under ongoing threats.

The training was organised by the Risk Management Department of the Ukrainian Red Cross with the support of the British Red Cross.
