Cash Assistance for People Evacuated from Zaporizhzhia Region: Ukrainian Red Cross Supported Over 450 People

Between 27 November and 8 December, the Ukrainian Red Cross team carried out registration for cash assistance at the transit centre in Zaporizhzhia for people evacuated from the Zaporizhzhia region. During this period, more than 450 people were registered and received financial assistance of UAH 10,800 per person.

The assistance is aimed at supporting civilians who were forced to leave their homes due to the security situation in the region. Cash support enables evacuees to cover essential needs, including accommodation, food, medicines, and other urgent expenses during the initial period of adaptation in a new location.

Providing cash assistance directly during evacuation is a vital component of humanitarian support. The Ukrainian Red Cross continues to respond to the needs of people affected by the war, delivering comprehensive assistance and support at the most difficult moments.

The project is implemented with the support of the Norwegian Red Cross.
