In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, regional command and staff exercises were conducted with the participation of the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team
Volunteers worked alongside first responders, medical services, and local authorities to practice a coordinated response plan.
The exercises aimed to strengthen collaboration between all services and improve coordination in the event of a real threat.
This year, the training covered several response scenarios, including:
- Responding to the destruction of a residential building following a drone attack;
- Managing hazardous chemical spills on railways and roads;
- Coordinating actions in the event of a potential threat involving weapons of mass destruction.
Each scenario required rapid assessment, prompt action, and seamless teamwork among all participating units.
Exercises like these are vital, as they enhance skills and reinforce inter-agency coordination — critical factors during the full-scale war in Ukraine.
