The Ukrainian Red Cross, together with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Centre for Nursing Development of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, and the Norwegian Red Cross, conducted a study visit to Oslo
The aim was to explore modern approaches in nursing, exchange experiences, and strengthen collaboration with Norwegian partners to support the development of new professional standards in Ukraine.
As part of the programme, the delegation held meetings with government, medical, and educational institutions, as well as at the Norwegian Red Cross office. The visit included learning about the work of the Norwegian Red Cross, the Health Centre for Undocumented Migrants, the digital tool VAR Healthcare, and models of nursing and rehabilitation care.
The Ukrainian delegation shared Ukraine’s experience of transforming the healthcare system during the war and initiated collaboration with Oslo Metropolitan University. Meetings were also held with the Norwegian Directorate of Health and the Secretary General of the Norwegian Red Cross, Grete Herlofson.
A key part of the visit was a tour of the Sunnaas Rehabilitation Hospital, a leading university-affiliated clinical facility providing inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation. The visit was supported by the Norwegian Red Cross EU Regional Office, which promotes the development of nursing and healthcare reforms in Ukraine.
