Sharing Experiences and Strengthening Cooperation: Ukrainian Red Cross and State Emergency Service Representatives Visit the German Red Cross Headquarters

Representatives of the joint Ukrainian Red Cross and State Emergency Service delegation visited the German Red Cross headquarters, a key site of their working programme. The main purpose of the meetings was to present the lessons learned from the war, the challenges Ukraine currently faces, and to study the German experience in coordination between government bodies and humanitarian organisations.

Partners shared how collaboration is structured between Germany’s civil protection system and the German Red Cross, highlighted the coordination models that have proven most effective in crisis situations, and discussed approaches that could be adapted for use in Ukraine. Special attention was given to emergency preparedness, crisis response, and community resilience — areas of particular importance for Ukraine today.

The German Red Cross continues to provide support and share its knowledge and expertise. Their openness, professionalism, and deep understanding of Ukrainian realities create a strong foundation for the further development of joint programmes and projects.

Together, we are strengthening the civil protection system and developing tools that help protect people even in the most challenging circumstances.

We stand by those in need!
