Joint Training of the Ukrainian Red Cross and the State Emergency Service in Volyn

The emergency response team of the Ukrainian Red Cross in the Volyn region took part in joint international training exercises with first responders from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and partners from the Republic of Poland.

In total, over 70 participants joined the exercise, which took place in the Shatsk National Nature Park, including representatives of the Volyn Regional State Administration and local authorities.

During the training, participants practised the full cycle of response to a flood situation — from setting up relief points for the affected population, evacuating people from flooded areas, and providing first aid, to water purification and coordination with emergency services. Volunteers of the Ukrainian Red Cross demonstrated how to provide essential support to people evacuated from flooded areas, including first aid and psychological assistance, as well as direct support to rescue teams.

Such exercises strengthen preparedness for joint response to emergencies, enhance cooperation between services, and promote the implementation of European safety standards in Ukraine.

Stronger together.
