Supporting communities through training to develop their own businesses

As part of the World Food Programme’s Micro-Grant 2025 programme, the Kharkiv regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross conducted two training sessions for residents of the Savyntsi and Barvinkove communities.

A total of 79 participants gained practical knowledge in business planning, marketing, finance, and accounting. The programme was tailored to the participants’ needs, increasing the practical component to 50% so that everyone could prepare their own business plan and confidently take the first step towards developing their enterprise.

Participants completed the training, received technical and informational support, and were given the opportunity to submit their business plans for grant funding.

Thanks to the collaboration with the World Food Programme, community members receive not only financial support but also new opportunities for recovery and sustainable development.
