The Ukrainian Red Cross participated in the civil protection exercises in the Khmelnytskyi region

Command and staff exercises involving management bodies and civil protection forces took place in Shepetivka. The team from the Khmelnytskyi regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross joined the drills, including members of the emergency response team and mobile health units.

The aim of the exercises was to enhance the readiness and coordination of all services in the event of emergencies. Participants practised response protocols, inter-agency coordination, and the procedures for carrying out evacuation measures.

Special attention was given to assessing how evacuation authorities in the district would respond to a potential accident at the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant — including evaluating their readiness and analysing factors that could impact the effectiveness of the response.

Such exercises enable an assessment of the preparedness of civil protection participants, improve coordination among them, and strengthen the safety of the population.
